Melanie M. Andreas

Attorney

Melanie M. Andreas is an Associate Attorney at Kemeny, Ramp & Renaud, LLC, where she focuses on civil litigation and appellate advocacy in New Jersey state courts. She brings to the firm a strong foundation in legal research, motion practice, and written advocacy developed through extensive judicial experience at both the trial and appellate levels.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Andreas served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Robert J. Gilson, P.J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. In that role, she researched and analyzed complex criminal, civil, family, and administrative matters arising at multiple stages of litigation, including appeals from summary judgment, motions to dismiss, and motions for reconsideration. She drafted detailed memoranda synthesizing procedural histories, factual records, and governing precedent, and assisted in the preparation and editing of published and unpublished appellate opinions. This experience gives her a valuable perspective on how appellate judges evaluate arguments and written submissions.

Ms. Andreas also gained significant civil litigation and trial strategy experience while clerking at a law firm in Florham Park, where she researched novel legal issues at both the state and federal levels and prepared memoranda for cases involving private and public entities. Her work included analyzing procedural and evidentiary standards and reviewing court submissions for accuracy and attribution.

While in law school, Ms. Andreas also served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Michael L. Ravin, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division (Criminal Part). In that role, she researched and assisted with drafting opinions on various matters, including pretrial detention, sentencing, motions to dismiss, and post-conviction relief, and observed trials, hearings, and sentencing proceedings.

Ms. Andreas earned her Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was a Senior Editor of the Seton Hall Law Review and received the honor of Best Appellee Brief Author. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with first-class honors and distinction, from McGill University, with a minor in Linguistics.

She is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey and brings strong analytical skills, meticulous legal writing, and a client-focused approach to every matter she handles. Ms. Andreas has professional proficiency in Spanish.
